What is YOUR take on ASSET MANAGEMENT?
I explained to him if we invested how he tried to convince me to invest – that is, in mutual funds – then we are just blindly trusting this “fund manager” to know what he is doing and putting our hard earned money into what this fund manager “thinks” is good. If the investment turns out what he predicts (at 6% return), then, that’s great … or great relief, I’d say! But what if the investment did NOT do so well as the fund manager predicts – what if the return was only 3% or less? Are we still happy with this investment and with this fund manager? Worse, what if the mutual funds didn’t even have a return? Would you as the investor be happy with this investment? There are so many “what ifs” because we can only BLINDLY TRUST what the “smart” fund manager predicts with the mutual funds that he believes will make a great return (6%). The investor simply has no control over what stocks he’s buying or selling, or how much and when. The investor can only hope and pray that the fund manager is making the right decision.
I think this is where the problem comes in when people are not educated in managing their investment portfolio. Does your fund manager explain what types of funds or stocks he’s putting your money into and why? Does he teach you what you can do if the funds or stocks he chose for you are not performing so that you can STILL make a great return? If you meet a fund manager who does, please introduce me to him/her!
We, at CE Properties, are bias and in complete favor of real estate investment (whether passively like you would with the funds manager or active, where you will need to be involved) because real estate is the only investment vehicle that gives us full control of our investments and we can truly manage our assets (without the need of a funds manager at all). We can decide which tenants we want in our properties or pick the right kind of borrowers to lend to. Either passive or active investing in real estate, we have the control to do as we see fit for the situation and won’t have to rely on someone else to predict whether we will see a profit at the end of the day.
If you are interested in learning more about asset management in real estate, feel free to contact us! We, at CE Properties, would love to help and teach you the many ways you too can control your investments and not have to rely on any fund manager to determine your wealth!
