It’s time to … revisit your goals!

I can’t believe that July is coming to an end and 2016 is already well past the half point mark. Summer in Canada is such a nice time to relax and enjoy the warm weather before winter comes. While we are enjoying the beautiful weather outside, perhaps it’s time we should take a few minutes to revisit our goals we had set out for 2016 and review how they have turned out so far. Have we been able to achieve our goals already or are we still in the process of attaining them? Are we better off than last year? Have we improved on the areas that we set out to do? Regardless how big or small, how long or short, how easy or difficult yours may be … be sure to keep going at them … since you still have almost half a year left, you can still achieve them if you haven’t done so already! Even for the goals you’ve accomplished, why not challenge yourself and strive to reach another, higher level … bring it up a notch? Whether yours is financially related or maybe it’s health related, whatever it is, I wish you all success!
You’re probably wondering why in the middle of summer I’d ask whether my goals are realized or haven’t so? I was chatting with a friend the other day as we haven’t seen each other since the beginning of the year and we were just catching up like old times … and that’s when the topic of new year’s resolution came up so I thought about writing on this topic for this month’s blog. I often like to reflect and revisit what I had set out to do (whether it is at the beginning of the year or it was the first thing I set out to do in the morning!) … this is the way I organize my day’s or week’s or month’s or year’s objectives. I write a list (I call it my “To do” list) of all the things I need to have done but organize each item in order of priority/urgency/how time-consuming/level of difficulty/etc. By having each “to do” items (mini goals) clearly listed and scheduled to be completed, they all work to the greater goals I’ve set out and ultimately to my “biggest” goal of the year. Basically, these are stepping stones to what I want to achieve by year end. They keep me focused so I won’t have to waste time on things that will distract me from reaching my goals. And since organizing my thoughts and mini goals this way, I have been able to see much more progress and much more efficient with my time! As you know, time is the most valuable, most precious thing in the world … and I definitely don’t want to sacrifice any of it on things that are not important to me or distract me from my goal-setting objectives!
Maybe it’s time you should refocus back on your goals too and see if you’ve been a bit distracted lately … if so, don’t fret, simply get back to work because time goes by so fast. Find a method that works for you so you too can conquer your goals by year end! I remember there is a song with lyrics that go like this, “Time goes by so slowly for those who run”. There definitely is some truth to it. It’s time to start running!
Hope you are achieving your dreams too (yes, even in the middle of summer!) … To your success, from CE Properties!
