Investing = growing wealth
Summer is finally coming to an end! How we’ll miss those endless days of sun tans and beach walks … I hope you are taking the time to enjoy the last months of summer breeze and warm weather before autumn arrives. Sometimes the little things in life are worth taking the time to appreciate … for these are the most precious things that will help you see what truly matters in life!
Over the past few weeks after analyzing what we have been building over the past 10 years with my wife, I have finally come up with an analogy to share with my clients and new investors about what it means to invest and how it relates to growing wealth. Many, to my surprise, never saw it this way …
Investing is like growing a rice plant. You put in time, effort, money to grow this one plant, hoping that it’ll give you rice one day (return on your investment). If it’s a good plant, it’ll yield better than average amount of rice. You can eat all of the rice from this one plant and wait for next year to harvest again. Or if you are like me, an investor, and you are serious about long term prosperity/wealth, you will not eat all of the rice that one plant yielded, but instead, save some as seeds so next year you can plant more rice plants, and the more plants you grow, the greater amount of rice they’ll yield.
Now, imagine you do this for 5 years, you will have more than enough rice to live on and in addition to all that rice, you will have extra rice that you can give to other as gifts (charity). More importantly, a good investment keeps on giving regardless whether you work or not.
I hope you, my readers, get my message … the bottom line is, at the beginning of your investing life, don’t eat all the “seeds” you yield from that investment … re-plant them, re-grow them, and let those seeds continuously grow more for you – let them build your wealth! By the time you harvest them, you will thank yourself of the time, effort, and energy you had put in!
Thank you for your time in reading my article this month … I look forward to writing my next month’s blog! Happy investing from CE Properties! Enjoy the rest of your summer …
